Our Featured Pi Day Zeno Champions
Zeno’s Champions play a vital role in the success of Zeno’s work and their investments take on many forms. From financial donations to new partner introductions, the investments made by Zeno Champions advance early math learning, racial equity, and family engagement.
This year Zeno highlights three Champions with unique collaboration models that support Zeno and family math missions: Heising-Simons, Magic Cabinet, and the National Association for Families, School, and Community Engagement (NAFSCE) . Their contributions in the Math Movement have resulted in multiple collaborations with Zeno including invitations to conferences, connections to new communities and programmatic partners, opportunities for coaching and capacity, as well as sponsorships and funding investments totaling nearly $1 million.
The Heising-Simons Foundation is a family foundation based in Los Altos and San Francisco, California. The Foundation works with its many partners to advance sustainable solutions in climate and clean energy, enable groundbreaking research in science, enhance the education of our youngest learners, and support human rights for all people.
Heising-Simons has been a Zeno champion since 2021.

Magic Cabinet aims to reimagine and deploy a new type of philanthropy. Magic Cabinet’s approach brings together four elements of community-centered funding: trust-based philanthropy, participatory decisions, capacity building, and long-term investment. Their unique participatory approach invests in nonprofit cohorts with a common geography and mutually supporting missions.
Magic Cabinet has been a Zeno champion since 2019.

NAFSCE is the first membership association focused solely on advancing family, school, and community engagement. Their mission is to advance high-impact policies and practices for family, school, and community engagement to promote child development and improve student achievement.
