It is our goal to continue to spark joy and inspire a love of math. You can engage your children in each math concept before they even receive their games! Let's explore the math concept of Spatial Awareness.
Spatial Awareness Activities
- When putting away groceries, dishes, laundry, etc. talk about where the different items belong using position words.
- While eating meals, talk about the location of food on the plate. For example, "My oranges are NEXT TO my sandwich."
- When playing with your child talk about positions in your child’s play. For example, “I see you knocked the blocks down and now they are ON TOP of the dolls.”
- Talk about where you are searching (under, behind, between). For example, “I am looking UNDER the bed.”
- Play "I-Spy" with your child using position words. For example, "I spy something blue that is INSIDE a box."
- When it comes time to clean up our toys use position words to put toys away. For example, “I am putting the LEGO bin BELOW the dolls.” or “Do the crayons go BESIDE the shelf of IN the cabinet?”

Nuestro objetivo es continuar generando alegría e inspirando el amor por las matemáticas. ¡Puede involucrar a sus hijos en cada concepto matemático incluso antes de que reciban sus juegos! Exploremos el concepto matemático de la Conciencia Espacial.
Activities de Relaciones Espaciales
- Al guardar las compras, los platos, la ropa sucia, etc., hable del lugar dónde pertenecen los diferentes artículos usando palabras de posición.
- Mientras coman, hablen sobre la ubicación de los alimentos en el plato. Por ejemplo, "Mis naranjas están AL LADO DE mi sándwich".
- Cuando juegue con su hijo, hable sobre las posiciones en el juego de su hijo. Por ejemplo, “Veo que derribaste los bloques y ahora están ENCIMA de las muñecas”.
- Hable acerca de dónde está buscando (debajo, detrás, entre). Por ejemplo, "Estoy mirando DEBAJO de la cama".
- Juegue "Veo Veo" con su hijo usando palabras de posición. Por ejemplo, "Veo algo azul que está DENTRO de una caja".
- Cuando llegue el momento de recoger los juguetes, use palabras de posición para guardar los juguetes. Por ejemplo, "Voy a poner el contenedor de LEGO DEBAJO de las muñecas". o "¿Los crayones van AL LADO del estante EN el gabinete?"
