Pi Day Game Build – 3/14/2020

Celebrate Pi Day with Zeno on 3.14 as we build fun math games, try a new brew, and enjoy a slice of PIE!

Our goal is to build 1,000 hands-on math games for preschool-aged children living in low-income communities across the state. With your support, we can lay the math foundation necessary to ensure that every child has the skills for a career in STEM and beyond!

Children ages 10+ are welcome to volunteer with a grown-up. REGISTER HERE!

Make a Move 4 Math – 3/5/2020

Join Zeno and volunteer at a fun filled evening during Make a Move 4 Math on Friday, April 3rd at 6PM at Washington Hall!

Make a Move for Math celebrates and raises funds critical to Zeno’s work to increase access to early math tools in low-income communities of color. This event would not be possible without volunteer support. Zeno needs support with: loading, unloading, event set-up, game stations, raffle stations, registration station, raise the paddle and more. Join us between 1:00 – 10:00 PM!

Volunteer at Work

Game Builds offer local companies the opportunity to host an on-site volunteer opportunity for their employees, give back to the community, and engage in a fun, team building activity. Game Builds challenge team members to communicate and work together to assemble hundreds of fun, hands-on math games. Zeno math games are designed to get kids and the adults in their lives to play math together, giving kids the opportunity to start kindergarten ready and excited to learn math. If your workplace is interested in hosting a game build this January-April, please contact Donor Stewardship Manager, Ari Rosen.

Game Translation Reviewers

Zeno is seeking volunteers to review our game translations! If you or someone you know is a native speaker of Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese, we’d love your help ensuring we effectively deliver materials in the home languages of the families we serve. Learn more

Why Volunteer?

We can’t do it alone. When you direct your time, energy and skills to volunteering with Zeno, you demonstrate to our kids, teachers and families the infinite possibilities that arise from an individual’s relationship with math.

We work directly where elementary kids learn, live and play because it’s here that our attitudes about math and about ourselves are formed. By starting at the source, by starting from the ground up, we’re creating a positive math culture. Your engagement as a Zeno volunteer can help reframe math as fun and relevant so that all kids, teachers and families can build math confidence and lifetime skills.

We commit to ensuring your volunteer experience is rewarding, impactful, and of course, fun! We always add new volunteer opportunities, so keep checking back to find the best assignment for your interests, skills, and schedule.
