We’re coming up on the end of the year here at Zeno, and we’re looking back at some of the memorable math moments we’ve seen this year. As you know, here at Zeno, we believe that by bringing enjoyment and excitement back to math, we transform people’s relationship with math. Our programs have been empowering children, families, and educators to positively change their attitudes and to embrace math, thereby making them more successful in all aspects of their lives.
Every year, over 500 kids, family members and teachers at South Shore gather for their biggest family event of the year – Pi Night. This school-led event celebrates the everyday joys of math and features activities from pi memorization competitions to hula hoop contests. Parents, teachers and Middle School students all work together to make this event a unique part of South Shore’s math culture. “Pi Night takes math out of the classroom”, reports a South Shore parent. “What you see there is beyond homework”! And South Shore’s Math Specialist Bryan Street adds “We are truly building community through math, and we have Zeno to thank for making it happen!”
This community building at South Shore would not have happened without the incredible support from our Zeno donors. Many of the schools we serve struggle financially to bring our powerful programs to the kids and families in their community. With your support, Zeno will continue to build math powered communities throughout the year at a subsidized rate to the schools that need us the most.
During this season of giving, we ask you to support our work through a donation to our 2014 Annual Fund.
Your gift will give kids the math confidence and tools to follow their dreams, whatever they might be!
