This fall we are thrilled to add 2 new staff members to our math powered team – please help us in welcoming to Zeno Caitlin Nunberg and Kate Sedney-Read!
Meet our new Outreach and Marketing Manager, Caitlin Nunberg
Caitlin is originally from Missoula, Montana and some of her fondest memories growing up are the afternoons she spent catching baby rainbow trout with a butterfly net. She was drawn to the Pacific Northwest by Evergreen State College and the opportunity to learn through their team-taught curriculum and real-world, hands on culture. Amazingly to her, one of the most fascinating classes was the Philosophy of Quantum Physics! Our culture of transparency and entrepreneurial spirit were what convinced her that Zeno was the place to bring her passion for nonprofit work. She has a commanding lead in her ladies Fantasy Football league and she enjoys spending time at Discovery Park with her two dogs, Leroy and Lola. The part of her new role she is looking forward to most is landing a major media mention for Zeno!
Meet our new AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer, Kate Sedney-Read
Kate is a native Seattleite, who has attended Seattle Public Schools (Montlake Elementary, Hamilton Middle School, and Ingraham High School) before attending Knox College in Gatesburg, Illinois, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science with minor in Spanish. A former softball player and marching band member, she likes to collaborate with others on a team but is very adept at working independently on self-selected and given tasks. Kate volunteered last year with Americorp and worked with Washington Reading Corps. This year, as well as volunteering at 826 Seattle, a volunteer tutoring center, Kate is an AmeriCorps Vista volunteer with Solid Ground and will have a dual role working with our Development and Community Programs teams at Zeno. We are lucky to have Kate with us through August 2014, when she will then move on to pursuing her career in non-profit work in Seattle!
