SUMMARY:White Allyship in BIPOC Spaces
DESCRIPTION:Panelists will discuss how they show up and engage with racial equity work as white folks in organizations led by and serving people of color.\n  \nREGISTER\n  \n  \nPresenters:\nKate Sedney-Read\nProject + Operations Manager\, Zeno \nKate first worked with Zeno in 2013 through the AmeriCorp Vista program and fully joined the team in 2014. She has enjoyed working in a variety of positions\, learning and growing with the organization. Kate grew up in Seattle and is passionate about working with others to make the city a joyful and equitable place to live for generations to come. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Knox College \n  \nKatie Sauter\nPreschool Enrollment Supervisor\, Department of Education and Early Learning for the City of Seattle \nKatie brings a wealth of early learning education and classroom experience from her time as a Head Start preschool teacher in Oklahoma. Katie previously worked with Zeno in various capacities over a six-year period as an Early Learning Specialist\, Consultant\, Program Manager and Co-Director of Programs. Katie supported Zeno in growing the early learning programs\, creating and refining a suite of 15 early learning games\, and expansion to serve families across Washington State. She holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Educational Studies.  \n  \nHayley Barra\nParentChild + Supervisor at El Centro de la Raza \nBorn and raised in California\, Hayley received her MSW in 2017 from the University of Washington. She’s worked in Seattle for the past 9 years as an Enrollment Specialist\, a Family Advocate\, and now as the ParentChild+ Supervisor at El Centro de la Raza. She recently received her endorsement from the Washington Association of Infant Mental Health as an IMH-E® Infant Family Associate. She is thrilled to be in the Child Development field and loves working with families and young children \n
