Michael joined Zeno’s board as a Board Fellow in August 2018. Through this program, business students at the University of Washington have the opportunity to join the board of a local non-profit as a non-voting member to learn about the structure of non-profit boards and gain experience for future community engagement.
Michael is a product management consultant at Microsoft, helping advise on Microsoft Store strategy, and previously worked as a public accountant, working with non-profits, hospitals, universities, and the YMCA. He was drawn to Zeno’s focus on early learners and working in communities most in need of math resources. Michael’s own positive experiences with math can be traced back to the 7th grade. His teacher, Ms. Miller, recognized he was not being challenged by the material and took it upon herself to help him get into a more challenging class, which proved to be the perfect fit!
When not inspiring kids to love math, you can find Michael on the golf course or hanging out with his wife, Melissa, and their 3 year-old weimaraner, Sloan.
