Volunteer for Math + Science Mashup!

Join Zeno and our partners from the Pacific Science Center for a Math & Science Mashup. We transform cafeterias, gyms, and community rooms as children and parents play math games together. Zeno staff members and lead volunteers train other volunteers at the event on the games and activities they will be playing . Volunteers will jump in with extra sets of hands and positive attitudes about math to give a whole new dimension to family fun!

Math & Science Mashup was developed by Zeno and Pacific Science Center to engage the student/adult audience in a themed activity program that demonstrates the fundamental role math and science has in everyday life. This event consists of a short stage show(15 min.), and five sections(areas) that each involve three or four activity/game stations. The students may use trebuchets to launch projectiles(safely), test surface tension using different liquids, or make straw noise makers and chart how length of straws determine pitch, etc. All have a great time while learning how science & math play integral roles throughout their daily lives and activities.
