Everett Plays Math!

Almost a month ago, over 600 kids and family members spent their Saturday playing math with us at Everett MathFest!

MathFest + Community Partnerships = Math-Powered Communities

Thanks to our partnership with Everett Public Schools, families in the Everett area came out in force on May 19th to spend their Saturday afternoon playing math at Angel of the Winds Conference and Event Center. This year, Zeno began working with the school district to bring our Family MathWays program to early learners in the district’s ECEAP classrooms, and we were excited to have the opportunity to work with a strong community partner to share the math fun with more kids and families. Having the endorsement of the school district was key to spreading the word about MathFest leading up to the event, identifying a great event space, and recruiting volunteers that reflect the community.

Zeno has been hosting MathFest events in Seattle and surrounding parts of King County for over ten years, and we were blown away by the enthusiasm from the community for this first-time event! Over 190 families, representing 90 preschools, elementary schools, and community organizations attended the event. Kids of all ages had a great time exploring math through games, art, books, and more. We loved seeing families and educators attending and volunteering at the event, creating an atmosphere of math engagement that was truly for and by the community. Zeno is incredibly grateful to everyone who attended MathFest and all of the volunteers who made our first Everett event a success!
