Liz joined the board in June 2017, but her first encounter with Zeno was at a MathFest event 10 years ago! She has also volunteered at Family Math Nights over the years. Liz brings her experience in the education sector to the board, including work as a teacher and math specialist at Garrison Forest School in Montana and at University Prep in Seattle. She is currently the Associate Academic Director at Rainier Scholars, an organization dedicated to creating pathways to college graduation for low-income students of color.

When not addressing educational inequity and making math fun for kids, she can be found going on runs around different neighborhoods in Seattle. What makes the number 7 so special to Liz? “I was born on 7/25 (2 + 5 = 7)/77 and weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces.” Sounds like a lucky number indeed!
